Bhumika Jhamb has over 12 years of experience in the international development sector. She worked with the Centre for Budget and Governance Accountability, a think tank based in India which focuses on analysing public policies and budgets from the perspective of the poorest and marginalised. She managed the Gender Responsive Budgeting (GRB) portfolio for UN Women Office for India, Bhutan, Maldives and Sri Lanka where she worked with national and provincial governments and provided advise on how to make their policies and programs more gender responsive. She has also provided policy advise to several other national governments across the Asia Pacific region. She has contributed to a range of cutting edge knowledge products in the area of GRB that have been published and widely disseminated. She is currently working as Research and Communications Coordinator at ACORN Canada, a national independent community action group. Bhumika has a Ph.D. from Delhi University. Her thesis focused on evaluating the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, the world’s largest anti-poverty program, from a gender perspective.
