Rosella Melanson is a Moncton native, with a background in social work, journalism, communications, and information technology. She holds a social work degree from Université de Moncton, a Masters (Journalism) from University of Western Ontario, and has completed academic courses for a communications degree at Université de Grenoble. She wrote a weekly political column on women's and Acadian issues in the New Brunswick Telegraph Journal until the fall of 2001. She worked for the Advisory Council for several years before following other interests, and returned to the Advisory Council at the end of 2001 as executive director.
