Dr. Lorna Turnbull

A graduate of the International School of Geneva (Switzerland), Queen's University, the University of Ottawa and Columbia University in New York City, Dr. Lorna Turnbull has taught and published in both law and women's studies. She is currently an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Law, University of Manitoba. She recently published Double Jeopardy: Motherwork and the Law which is recognized nationally and internationally as "essential reading" on motherhood and law. In addition to teaching and academic writing, Dr. Turnbull has been involved in social development at the grassroots level for most of her life. She has been involved as part of an advisory group on gender equality claims being litigated before Canadian courts and is currently working with the UN Platform for Action Committee promoting gender sensitive budgeting to the Government of Manitoba.
