'A Gendered Analysis of Recent Proposed Changes to the Provincial and Federal Pension Legislation'
This paper will examine the gender impact of recent proposed pension "reforms" in BC, Alberta, Ontario, Nova Scotia and at the federal level. Women historically have had less access to the economic security of pensions and other deferred income vehicles. Pension and tax legislation have operated to deny coverage because women's work and women's work patterns do not fit within traditional categories. The question now is whether the proposed changes in pension law will assist women or further exacerbate their disadvantage.
